Applications become available by mid-January and are available in the school’s counseling office. The forms must be filled in by hand and handed in to the counseling office. If you have any questions, please click here to contact us.
The deadline changes each year to meet the school calendar; any application received after that date will not be considered. The date is well publicized at the school and is on the application.
Scholarships are based on a number of criteria including GPA, need, interest in specific careers, the institution that you plan to attend, ethnic background, home-owner association where you live to name a few. It is important to completely fill out the application. Otherwise, you may be overlooked for a scholarship for which you are qualified.
All awards are announced at the Senior Recognition Night, which held a few weeks prior to graduation. This event is well-attended. Many parents and community members attend this very happy event where the scholarships earned by graduating seniors are recognized. At this event not only SLSF scholarships but also many direct scholarships from a wide variety of educational institutions and other groups are presented or otherwise acknowledged.
